Broadcasting Board:

Help Menu:

If you there is no music being broadcasted to the computer and  FM transmitter:

  • Check if there's music coming into the broadcasting board by checking if the Volume Meters are lit or not. If it is lit then make sure that the connection from the broadcasting board to the computers and FM transmitter is secured.

  • Make sure the Volume slider is up to number 6 or 7, and gradually increase it up to 10.

  • If the Volume Meter is not lit, check to make sure that the connection from the device (mixer, turntables, CD player) that you are using coming into the broadcasting board is secured.

  • If this did not help go to the help menu on the piece of equipment that you are using.

  • Broadcasting board is used to pick up the broadcasting signal from the mixer and then send it to the computers and FM transmitter.

  • Two MICs can be hook up to the back of the broadcasting board using balanced inputs.

  • All equipment to and from the broadcasting board is connected by RCA cables.

  • Channels 1&2 are used for MICs. All other channels can be used to receive signals from other equipment (mixer, turntable, CD player, etc.).

  • To increase or lower the volume for a particular device, just slide the "Volume Slider" for that device up or down.

  • To turn the Broadcasting board on, you need to flip the switch on the gray metal case.

  • There are two "Volume Meters" that will indicate to you either you are "clipping" or not. Clipping means that you are pumping too much power into the Broadcasting board. Therefore, the show that is being broadcasted to the computers and FM transmitter is distorded.

Mixers:

Help Menu:

There is no music being transmitted to the Broadcasting board:

  • Check if the mixer is on, if not plug it in to the outlet.

  • If it is, check to see if the volume slider is up and that the crossfader is selected right.

  • Make sure that the flip switch for the channel that you are using is in the right position.

  • Make sure all connections on the back are secured.

  • If this does not solve the problem check the connections on the broadcasting board and the equipment that you are using.

I'm getting static when I play a record:

  • Check the ground cable of the Turntable

  • Clean the record

I'm not getting any sound inside the booth, but it is being transmitted to the Broadcasting board:

  • Check the Booth volume control.

  • Maker sure connections to the amp are secured

  • Make sure the amp is on

The cue button isn't working, I'm not getting any music on my headphones:

  • Check to see if the cue button on the channel that you are using is lit.

  • Make sure that the volume for the headphones is not off

My MIC is not working

  • Make sure the gain for the Mic is not off

  • Make sure connections on the back are secured

The equalizer is not working (Numark):

  • Make sure that the equalizer button is on

  • The mixer is much like the broadcasting board, it has a Volume Meter(1), Volume Sliders (2), MIC inputs, RCA inputs, and Balanced Inputs. The only differences are the following: 1/4 Jack inputs for MICs and outputs as well as balanced and RCA outputs for the amplifier, and a "Crossfader".
  • To turn the Mixer on:
  • VEXTAX:  make sure that the power supply is connected  and use the switch on the back of the mixer to turn it on.
  • NUMARK: Make sure it is connected to the outlet and use the switch on top of the mixer.
  • You have to options when it comes to fade from one song into another. You can either use the Crossfader or the Volume Slider.
  • To use the Crossfader(3): make sure that you select which channel you are using. If you look at the push buttons (4) located above the crossfader for vextax and on the side of the crossfader in the Numark, you will see number 1 and 3 on the left push button, and 2 and 4 on the right push-button. Before you use the crossfader make sure that you press or depress the push-button depending on what piece of equipment you are using. Make sure that the crossfader is on the opposite side of the push-button that you made your selection before. Make sure that the Volume Slider is at 7 or 8, depending on how low the music is.
  • Start the CD, turntable, MD, MP3 machine, and slowly bring the crossfader to the other side now and do the same as before to the other side.
  • To use the Volume Slider (2): make sure that the crossfader is in the middle at all times. Start the CD ( for example), slide the Volume Slider for the piece of equipment that you want to broadcast to the outside up. As you reach the end of the song, bring the Volume slider down, and raise the next Volume Slider that you want to use.
  • CUE, is what DJs and On-Air-Personalities call when you listen to a song on your headphones while you have something else being broadcasted. Cue works by pressing the button under the Volume Slider of the equipment that you plan to use next. You can also adjust the volume on the headphones(8). To turn off the CUE just press the lit CUE button again.
  • Each of the mixer haves equalizers (4) which can be used by the DJ as long as there is no clipping.
  • The MIC also have an equalizer and a gain button (7), you should keep the gain at 3/4 the most depending of your voice.
  • All the mixers have a selection flip switch (5). This allows more than one device to be connected to the mixer but only one per channel can be use at a time.
  • The booth volume control (9) is used to control the sound inside the On-air-personality booth. The loudest that the volume bar can be is 5 or half way in Vextax.

CD Players:

  • You can Cue a song, meaning you can start it at a desired time somewhere in the song by using the CUE  button (3). To use the CUE button you need to pause the song at the moment that you want. Move the wheel (4) to move to the stop desired (either back or forward) and press the CUE button.  By CUEing the song means that spot is now in memory. Every time you hit the CUE button, the CD player will start at the time or spot you CUEd. If you want to CUE another spot, you need to follow the directions above, it is very important that you move the wheel. Moving the wheel lets the CD player know that you are ready to CUE something. Therefore if you do not move the wheel and press CUE after, it will not set it up.
  • The Pitch (5) allows you to speed up or slow down a song, you can also use different percentages of pitch (only on Gemini) 4%, 8%, and 16%. This percentage means that you can speed up or slow down (for example by taking the first one) a song by plus (+) or minus (-) 4 percent of the original speed.

  • To turn the CD player on you need to plug it in to the outlet and push the power button between the CD trays.
  • You can see what track you are on and how much time you have left by looking at the display (1)
  • To play a CD you need to press the Start Button (2), to play another song either before or after the one you are playing you use the back and forward buttons (2)
  • Gemini CD player allows you to use a quick search a song by using the number bar on top (7)

Turntables:

  • Arm (1)
  • Pitch Control (2)
  • Light (3)
  • On/Off Button (4)
  • 33/45 speed (5) changes the speed of the record to 33 or 45 RPMs
